about estani
Singer and songwriter Estani Frizzell, better known as Estani, is an artist whose musical journey spans multiple genres, each representing a chapter of her artistic evolution. Her versatility in songwriting and style allows her to move smoothly across musical boundaries, creating hooks and melodies that draw from Latin jazz, neo soul, Tejano, cumbia, and other Latin genres.
Estani has crafted a sound that defies categorization. Each transition reflects her growth as an artist and her connection to a diverse musical landscape. Her song “Mi Suerte Ha Cambiado,” featured on her 2025 album “Tú de mí te acordarás,” showcases the sound, soul, and richness of South Texas conjunto music through the words and songs of her grandmother.
Through her music, Estani has earned three nominations from the Hollywood Music and Media Awards in the Adult Contemporary Song, Pop/Latin/Urban, and Latin Traditional categories. Her smooth jazz song “Fire and Ice” won in the Jazz/R&B category of the MusicCity Song Star songwriting contest.
Her video for “Droughts in the Ocean” earned a Best Music Video nomination in 2021 from the Montreal Independent Film Festival. Her second single, “Tell Me Why,” earned a Best Music Video nomination in 2022 from the Los Angeles Independent Women Film Awards. Her bolero “Jamás” was an official 2024 selection by Women in Film/TV Austin.
Her work as a lead vocalist and background singer includes performances at the Montreal Jazz Festival, Gibson Amphitheatre, The Tonight Show, and festivals and venues outside the United States. She has performed as the lead vocalist of her own group, Ascension, and as a background singer for international artists including Laura Pausini and Joan Sebastian. Her work with Joan Sebastian included a four year tour.
Estani also published her first children’s book, “Introducing Sai the Peacock: The Unique Beak,” with illustrations by her daughter. The project includes narration, a musical score, an EP, music videos, and an educational curriculum for children ages 3 to 7. It explores individuality and self expression through literature, music, and creative learning.
Released in 2025, her third album, “Tú de mí te acordarás,” honors her grandmother’s legacy as a South Texas conjunto vocalist in the 1960s and 1970s. The album blends contemporary sounds with the vintage feel of that period, connecting her family’s musical history with her own artistic voice.
From the energy of corrido and conjunto music to the intricate rhythms of Latin jazz, Estani brings her musical influences and personal history into her songwriting and performances.
